Infant & Toddler Curriculum Development

This workshop will explore the foundation for developing an early childhood curriculum in a specific setting with a focus on developmentally appropriate standards. Together, we will examine sources for curriculum and gain knowledge of principles of child development while focusing in children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth.

Pre-school Curriculum Development

This workshop will explore the foundation for developing an early childhood curriculum in a specific setting with a focus on developmentally appropriate standards. Together, we will look at a variety of approaches in developing curriculum through the assessment of numerous models.  You will experience a better understanding of curriculum development by having the opportunity to create your very own curriculum.

This workshop will explore the foundation for developing tools that promotes respect and promotes appropriate interactions among children and teachers. Together, we will examine how to establish effective rules and consequences, preventive strategies, focus on the behavior not the child and how to respond to classroom disruptions.

Designing a Toddler environment

This workshop will explore the significance of physical arrangement in a classroom for toddlers and how it can promote a sense of independence, security, and belonging.

Together, we will brainstorm strategies for providing opportunities to support children’s development by creating the right classroom atmosphere while looking at all the learning areas. You will become attuned in identifying the signs

Partnership with Parents

Participants will strengthen their ability to interact and partner with the families that they serve. Staff will learn how to work with families to support young children’s social and emotional development.

Article 47.37 Regulations [Understanding & Implementing the DOHMH Article 47.37 Regulations]

Participants will understand the requirements of the Department of Health Article 47.37 regulations and their role in maintaining licensure.                      

 

Child Abuse, SBS & SIDS: Reporting & Preventing Child Abuse, Shaken Baby and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Awareness

Participants will have an understanding of how to identify all areas of child abuse and know the protocol to report child abuse. This workshop will also cover Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) as well as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

Health & Wellness: Promoting Health & Nutrition in Children

Participants will create an environment where families, children and staff feel safe and secure. This workshop will focus on creating an environment that protects and enhances the health and nutrition of our children.

Physical Activities Meeting Nutritional Needs of Young Children 
Controlling Infection

Participants will learn the latest information about in infection.  They will learn techniques on how to control the spread of infection in the classroom and their personal space.  This training is provided by a medical professional.

Developmental Delays: Supporting Children & Families

Participants will learn how to access resources provided by state agencies funded by the Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (OMRDD).  A directory of provider agencies will be included.
