First and Second Year Residency Requirement Exemption Request Form

The university requires that all first and second year students live on campus. Exemptions to this residency requirement may be requested by first meeting with the Senior Assignment Coordinator, Luciana Jean-Mary and then completing this form. Once the form is completed successfully it will be automatically submitted for review at the next On-Campus Residency Exemption Appeal Committee meeting. 
 
If you failed to fully complete the form or no required supporting materials are attached, you will be placed in a pending staus and an email notification will be sent to your husky email account  Once additional information is received, we will then submit the form to the On-Campus Residency Exemption Appeal Committee for review.
 
 
Exemptions are only reviewed if you submit the form by the published deadlines posted below Each request is reviewed on a case-by-case basis. The On Campus Residency Exemption Appeal Committee will begin meeting every Thursday as of October 23, 2014 and decisions will be released via e-mail within 48 hours of each meeting.
 
Residency Waiver Deadlines:
Newly incoming students and Rising Second Year for Fall 2015 and Spring 2016: April 15, 2015
Current Freshmen and Second Year students petitioning for Spring 2015: December 6, 2014
Important Message for All Financial Aid Applicants:

Approval of this request may change your offer of financial assistance, due to a reduction in your annual estimated cost of attendance (eliminating costs for room and board).  Most financial assistance offers are created using an estimated cost of attendance, which includes on campus room and board costs.

Newly-admitted Freshmen must complete this form by April 15, 2015. Exemption requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis after the deadline. There may be a delay in processing as the committee no longer regularly meets after the April 15th deadline! A Residency Requirement Exemption request can only be submitted once during an academic year. All decisions will be communicated in writing via HuskyMail on a rolling basis.
