Food Vendor Rules and Guidelines
Booth space: Standard booth space is 10’ x 10’, but arrangements can be made for a larger area if needed and requested well in advance. Participants will need to provide for their own tent, tables, chairs, and any other needs. Tents should be weighted. Absolutely no stakes are allowed, due to the presence of shallow underground utilities. Signs should be free standing. Small signs with wire frames are allowed.
Food & Beverage Offerings: In keeping with the message of ORSEEE, effort should be made to offer healthy food options and/or items made from organic and/or sustainably produced ingredients. Preference will be given to vendors demonstrating commitment to this message.
NOTE: Bottled water may not be sold or given away.
Food & Beverage Containers: Food item requires a different item, it Food service items [flatware, plates, etc.] must be recyclable or compostable, with emphasis on waste minimization. Food cannot be sold in Styrofoam or plastic containers of any kind. Beverages must be sold in aluminum or steel cans. No straws are to be provided. Glass bottles are forbidden at Bissell Park. Any necessary deviations must be approved in writing by the festival committee prior to the event. At ORSEEE 2012, vendors will be inspected to ensure adherence to the above requirements. Vendors who have food or beverages for sale in containers other than described will not be permitted to sell those items. Booth Setup: Set up for vendors will begin at 7 a.m. on May 5 and must be complete by 10:00 am. Late arrivals will not be allowed. Break down of booths begins at 3 pm and must be completed by 5 pm. Vendors are responsible for bringing all supplies they will need. In mid-April, we will send all participants detailed information about setup.
Electricity: Due to the event’s location, with few exceptions, we are unable to guarantee electrical power for vendors or exhibitors. It is in your best interest to be completely self-sufficient. If you have unique needs that merit special consideration, please indicate on your application form under “special requests.”
Please note that gasoline-powered generators are not permitted. Propane-powered cookers (in excellent working condition) are acceptable. When completing your application, include information about your preferred set-up: size of the area you need, number and size of propane tank(s) your set-up includes, and precise electrical needs (IF we are able to provide it – voltage need, number of outlets).
Rain or Shine: ORSEEE 2012 will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2012 rain or shine, from 9am - 4pm. Vendors who sign on for this event will be held to their commitment for attendance and provision of food products for sale for the duration of the event.
Waste Minimization: In keeping with the message of ORSEEE, all reasonable effort must be made to minimize the amount of waste generated in the operation of the booth. To the extent possible, trash should be recycled or composted; bins will be available onsite for segregating waste streams for disposal. It is your responsibility to dispose of your trash before, during, and after the event.
