FAQ

Q: Can I enter more than one dog in the competition?
A: Yes but you need to fill out one registration form per dog.

Q: What is expected of my dog during the competition?
A: Contestants parade their dog into the show ring and form a line or semi-circle in front of the celebrity judges. The MC will ask each contestant to step forward and present their dog in front of the judges.

Q: How do the judges score?
A: Celebrity judges score each dog to their own liking with a numerical value based on the number of dogs
in the competition. Scores will not be presented publicly. The MC will announce the 3rd, 2nd and 1st place winners.

Q: What are the prizes?
A: 1st place winners for eachcategory will receive a blue ribbon and a prize (TBA).
2nd and 3rd place winners will recieve a medal.

Q:
What are the rules for competing?
A: Your dog can be any mix of breeds and must be on a leash at all times, must be spayed or
neutered, and non-aggressive. Dogs are not physically handled by the judges.

Q: Why does my dog need to be spayed or neutered to be in the show and be at Race For The Rescues?
A: This is a fundraising event for non-profit, no-kill animal welfare organizations. Our biggest goal is
to end pet overpopulation. We don't condone owning a pet that is not spayed or neutered. Additionally, we don't want any behavioral issues to arise in the ring from a female dog that may be in heat or a male dog that is overly dominant. If you need facts about why you should spay or neuter, please visit The Rescue
Train’s "Why Spay/Neuter" page at www.TheRescueTrain.org.

Q: Why do some people get a chance to talk about their dog and others don't?
A: Some categories allow enough time for the MC to speak to the
owner or ask the owner questions about their dog when they are presented to the
judges. Due to time constraints, some owners do not always get the chance to
speak. Whether you get a chance to speak or not should not affect your score.
