Office of Housing and Residence Life Resident Assistant Application 2018-2019

The Office of Housing and Residence Life is excited that you are considering joining our team! 

On the next two pages is our Resident Assistant Application which will require you to fill out a great deal of information about yourself so that we can begin to know you better and consider you for an open Resident Assistant position.  Before you begin to fill in your information, read through the application to be sure you have all of the materials you will need to completely answer the questions.  There are also four essay questions to answer on the last page of this application. You can expect to spend at least 30 minutes on this application.

- You will not be able to return to the application once you submit it.
- You will not be able to submit a second application once you have submitted it a first time.
- There is not a way to save the application part of the way through and return to complete it at a later time.

Essays should not be longer than 250 words, but should contain thoughtful responses to the questions.
The questions you will need to respond to in Part Two of the application are:

1. Why are you applying for a Resident Assistant (RA) position for 2018-2019?
2. What qualities or characteristics are most important for an RA to possess, and how have you exemplified them?
3. What specific strengths or experiences will you bring with you to the RA position?
4. How will the RA position aide you in reaching your personal and professional goals?

All candiates are required to complete an application and attend ONE information session.

The information provided below and as part of this application will be used in the Office of Housing and Residence Life Staff Selection Process.  It will be made available to the administrative staff of the office and persons serving the selection committee for applicant review.  It will remain confidential at all times unless university guidelines, federal or state law require its release.

***All applicants who are offered a position with the department will undergo a federal criminal background check and university judicial verification.  All employment offers are contingent upon the information returned from these checks and verifications, and will be withdrawn if necessary pending the outcome of the checks and verifications .***
