SHOW DATES & LOCATION: Nov.1, 2020 - Sept 1, 2021, located in the healing garden at University Hospitals Portage Medical Center.

AWARDS: The University Hospital Foundation awards $500 for 2D/3D work selected. Up to three entries per student may be submitted.

ELIGIBILITY: MFA/MA/BFA/BA students from Kent State University School of Art.
The show is open to 2D and 3D media.
3D media must be capable of being displayed outdoors through the winter, spring and summer.
2D Media must also be capapble of being displayed outside and/or capable of being reporoduced on outdoor sign.

SIZE REQUIREMENTS:
There is no size limitiaton on Two-dimensional works.
If it is not being reproduced on outdoor signage it must be weather proof and capable of being bolted to an outdoor brick wall.
Three-dimensional work may be no larger than 30 inches x 30 inches x 30 inches. (height x width x depth). Even larger work is possible for inclusion, however that will be determined on a case by case basis.
 
SUBMISSIONS AND FEES: There is no fee to submit. Only original works may be submitted.
Artwork should be submitted digitally in JPEG format to the online application available.
Each student may submit up to three (3) individual works for consideration. 

DIRECTIONS FOR SUBMISSION:
Photograph your work NOTE: This step is VERY IMPORTANT. The photograph of your work will be the first impression the curator will see -- not the actual work itself. It is important to take high quality photographs with good lighting, clarity, and a solid background. Do not enhance your images with Photoshop; only adjust if necessary for detail quality. It is highly recommended that you do not take your photos with a cellphone. If you like, you can have someone take your photos for you in order to ensure the highest-quality images. Crop and adjust your final images to ensure a quality presentation

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED by the end of the day ON Saturday, October  24, 2020
Entries received after 10/24/2020, will not be eligible for entry into the exhibition.

ACCEPTANCES: Notification of accepted work will be made via email by the end of the day on October 26, 2020. The curator may reject entries that differ from their digital representation.
The curator’s decision is final.

REJECTIONS: The curator reserves the right to reject work that is deemed unstable upon arrival, is not properly presented, differs from the submitted digital representation, or is unsuitable for display.
 
REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTED WORK:
A label must be attached to the back of the work, indicating which end is the top and the following information: Artist Name, Year in School ( Graduate Student, Junior, Senior, etc), Title of Work, Medium, Dimensions, Price, Address, Phone Number, and Email Address.
 
DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED WORK: All work that is accepted must be delivered to the CVA Gallery in the Center for the visual arts, Wednesday, October 28, BY 4:00 p.m. All containers, crates, boxes, and packaging must be identified with the same information as the label on the work inside in large enough print.
REMOVAL OF WORK: At the close of the exhibition on the returning/unsold artwork will be re-packaged in the artist’s shipping containers and brought back to to CVA Gallery. An email will be sent in the future about a pick up day. Works not collected on pick up day will not be retained unless other arrangements have been made.
USE OF IMAGES: Any image submitted may be used for marketing and promotional purposes directly related to this show. This use may include inclusion in any publications, printed materials, advertisements, or electronic media. Copyright and all other rights remain that of the artist.

SALES AND TRANSACTIONS: Artists whose work is selected may elect to mark their work for sale. The University Hospitals Portage Medical Center and Kent State University will not play any role in the processing of sales, nor will it retain any percentage of sales. All communication between potential buyers and artists will be handled through the curator. Sold works will remain until the end of the exhibition, at which time arrangements for removal of the purchased work will be made by the curator. Smaller works may be shipped at the expense of the buyer. Artwork and payment transactions between artists and buyers will be arranged to take place after the close of the exhibition.

LIABILITY: The University Hospitals Portage Medical Center nor the School of Art Collection and Galleries at Kent State University are responsible for any damage, breakage, loss, or claim of any kind associated with handling, storing, framing, displaying, and showing of the art. Every precaution will be taken in handling the entries. The University Hospitals Portage Medical Center and the School of Art Collection and Galleries at Kent State University assume no liability for any loss or damage to any artist’s works while in our care, custody, or control before, during, or after the exhibition. Each artist, if he or she wishes, may provide his/her own insurance coverage for submitted works.
 
ENTRY AGREEMENT: With the submission of artwork into the The University Hospitals Portage Medical Center Annual Kent State University Student Exhibition, the artist agrees to all the terms and conditions set forth in this prospectus.
