AGE REQUIREMENTS

Mini Kids (7 & under)

Children (12 & under)

Junior (13-16 yrs) Junior 1 Solo/Duo (13-14) + Junior 2 Solo/Duo (15-16)

Adult (17 & over)

Adult 2 (31 & over)

**age is determined as of Dec 31 the competition year, so Dec 31/2024.

ACRO REQUIREMENTS

This is a world championship national team - we will accept acro dancers at a competitive level. The IDO Acrobatic Dance Championships require 50% acro and 50% dancing so team members must be able to do both. Please see the ON Acro Audition tab for more information.

TEAM(s)

The 2024 Acro Championships are being held in conjunction with the IDO World Ballet, Jazz, and Modern/Contemporary Championships and IDO World Improvisation Cup in Kielce, Poland. You may audition to be a part of one or more genres competiting that week.

FEE

$25/acro VIDEO audition. *Exception - see below

VIDEO AUDITIONS

You may submit more than one video for acro. All details about what we would like to see are on the ON Acro Audition tab of our website. Please register for Ballet, Jazz, and/or Modern/Contemporary separately, but you may e-transfer the fee together.

2 genres = $40 (with either one of ballet, jazz, or modern/contemporary, plus acro)

3 genres = $50 (with 2 of the genres mentioned, plus acro)

4 genres = $60 (with all 4 genres)

Please note that although we offer a video audition option for those that cannot make in-person, it is always preferred to come in person. It is harder to assess dancers by video and fewer acceptances are given this way. Please see website, under Ontario Ballet-Jazz-Contemp Auditions or Ontario Acro Auditions for more information about video auditions. Currently, we are only planning video auditions for teams which Derek is choreographing for, including all ages of the Ontario Acro team, all ages of the Ontario Modern/Contemporary team, and Ontario Adult (17 & over) Jazz.
