Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with our students by celebrating all Hispanic cultures with our students through the love of books!

More than ever, students are growing up with more than one language at home and at school. Studies have shown that when students are encouraged to use their home languages in the classroom, they are more likely to have enhanced cultural awareness and diversity, increase cognitive dexterity and problem solving skills, and improved communication skills.

To help our students learn English and maintain their home language, we are calling for volunteers to record themselves reading books in Spanish, books that are bilingual in both Spanish and English, or simply reading in English and translating in Spanish.

Between September 15 - October 15, pick up your favorite book and don't be camera shy. Your video will be shared with students throughout our ReadingPals classrooms.
