Welcome to VITA at United Way of Miami-Dade

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is the largest anti-poverty program in the country, bringing millions of dollars to our local community each year.

Together, we can bring safe and reliable tax preparation services to those in need, helping working families jumpstart their savings, reduce debt and achieve their goals.

No experience is necessary and training is provided.

Tax Preparer

Site Coordinator

Site Coordinator - Ensure the site is running smoothly and following all operational protocols.

*Site Coordinators must also complete either an Advanced Certification or a Circular 230 Tax Professional Certification.

Tax Preparer - You are the heart of VITA. Help families access safe tax preparation, claim valuable tax credits and connect to critical financial stability services.

Greeter - Greet everyone visiting the site to create a pleasant atmosphere. Screen taxpayers to determine the type of assistance they need and confirm they have the necessary documents to complete their tax returns.

CPA/Attorney/Enrolled Agent - Online Circular 230 Training

Classroom Sessions:

Typically large groups with multiple instructors teaching and acting as proctors. Volunteers must supply their own laptop for classroom training.
